Assessing for ADHD is a comprehensive process that includes interviews and questionnaires to consider how your child’s experiences align with the diagnostic criteria. At Lighthouse Psychology, we use a combination of tools, such as a structured parent interview, time with your child to build a wholistic understanding of their strengths and interests, and parent, teacher, and self-report (when appropriate) questionnaires.

This assessment is suitable for children and young people aged 7-18 and includes:

• Parent intake appointment to gather background and developmental history (1 hour)

• Further parent interview to gather relevant information and explore other factors that may be contributing to your child’s presentation (approx. 2 hours)

• Assessment sessions with your child and the psychologist (approx. 2 hours)

• Administration of relevant questionnaires

• Comprehensive written report with recommendations tailored to your child

• Feedback meeting with parents (relevant school staff can be invited at parents’ discretion)
