Full Educational Assessment

A full educational assessment is a comprehensive assessment of your child’s intellectual functioning (i.e., IQ) and academic performance. It is used to consider patterns of strengths and differences, in turn ensuring strengths are enriched and any difficulties supported. If you are considering the possibility of a Specific Learning Disorder (i.e., dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia), high intellectual ability (i.e., giftedness), or intellectual development disorder (previously intellectual disability) for your child, this type of assessment may be appropriate.

This assessment is available for children and adolescents aged 6-18 years and includes:

  • Parent intake appointment to gather background and developmental history (1 hour)

  • Assessment sessions with your child and the psychologist (approx.. 4 hours)

  • Comprehensive written report with recommendations tailored to your child

  • Administration of relevant questionnaires (if required)

  • Feedback meeting with parents (relevant school staff can be invited at parents’ discretion)

Add-on Services

Additional services can be added onto these assessments, such as screening for other neurodevelopmental presentations (e.g., ADHD or autism). Given the likelihood of co-occurring neurodevelopmental presentations, this additional service may be recommended by your psychologist during the parent intake appointment. The cost of this additional service ranges from $150-$300 and will be discussed with you prior to administration.

Please note, this is not a diagnostic assessment and a diagnosis of ADHD or autism cannot be confirmed if this add-on service is selected. If you are seeking a diagnosis, please refer to our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Services.
