About us

Lighthouse Psychology Centre was founded to offer a safe and welcoming space for children, young people, and their families.  We offer high-quality psychological assessments that explore learning, neurodevelopment, and all that goes along with it. Whether you are navigating questions around attention, emotional regulation, learning differences, or social connection, we’re here to help you make sense of what’s going on and consider what might help.

We focus on the whole child, not just symptoms or diagnoses, and aim to make the assessment process engaging, affirming, and meaningful. We collaborate closely with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure our recommendations are practical, tailored, and useful in real life. We aim to meet each family with warmth, clarity, and respect as we know this journey can feel overwhelming at times.

At Lighthouse, we understand that seeking an assessment is not just about gathering information, it’s an investment in your child’s future. Through our assessments, we aim to offer insight, reassurance, and clear next steps to support your child and family. We take a strengths-based approach to uncover your child’s unique pattern of strengths and differences. Our goal is to develop recommendations that are individualised, practical, and grounded in who your child is. Alongside this, we work with you and your child to suggest tailored accommodations and supports that make sense in real-life settings like the classroom and at home. Our assessments are more than a report. They are an investment in understanding your child’s world and in building a path forward that supports their identity, happiness, and growth.

Meet Morgan

Morgan Norris

Clinical Psychologist

Morgan is a warm, thoughtful clinical psychologist with a passion for working alongside children, young people, and their families. She completed her training at the University of Tasmania and brings experience from both private practice and school settings.

Morgan is particularly interested in helping children understand how they make sense of the world and ensuring the important people around them can understand this, too. She is guided by the belief that “kids do well if they can” (Dr. Ross Greene), and works to uncover the “why” behind challenges experienced by children and families.

She values collaboration with parents, carers, and schools to create practical, strengths-based strategies that are meaningful in real life. With ongoing training in neuroaffirming approaches, Morgan is committed to understanding and supporting different ways of thinking and learning, and tailoring support to suit each child’s unique profile. She enjoys the process of ‘piecing together the jigsaw’ to help families move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Morgan’s background in schools means she understands how to suggest recommendations that actually work in classroom settings. She is known for her friendly, approachable style and belief in working with families every step of the way. She can’t wait to guide you through the next steps and looks forward to connecting with you soon.

Morgan is a board approved supervisor and welcomes expressions of interest from provisional psychologists, clinical psychology registrars, and early career psychologists. Please contact her to learn more.

More Information

  • At Lighthouse Psychology Centre, we are committed to providing high-quality, thorough assessments that best nurture your child’s strengths and guide others to support areas of difference. Our package prices reflect the time we spend working with you and your child, including direct session time, comprehensive report writing, liaison with schools and other professionals (where appropriate), and the professional requirements required to ensure best practice.

In most cases, $250 is payable at the conclusion of the parent intake appointment, with the remaining assessment costs outlined in an invoice. We ask that 50% of the total invoice is paid at the conclusion of the child assessment sessions, with the remaining balance due at least 24 hours prior to your feedback meeting. Please note, the feedback meeting will not proceed and reports will not be released until payment has been received in full. If you have any questions about payment, or wish to discuss the possibility of a payment plan, please reach out.

There are no Medicare rebates available for services offered at Lighthouse Psychology Centre. Some private health funds will offer a rebate. Families are encouraged to explore this before engaging with our service.

  • We understand that life happens and plans can change. If you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. As we are a small practice with limited availability, it may not always be possible to reschedule your appointment.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours may incur a fee.

  • Lighthouse Psychology Centre is a small practice with limited availability. Appointments are booked in order of contact and, at this stage, we are unable to triage referrals based on need. We endeavour to book your appointment when you contact us, however this is not always possible. If we are unable to offer you an appointment time, we will provide an estimated timeframe in response to your enquiry.

We have increased capacity for assessments during school holiday periods.

  • Most appointments take place in our clinic room, located at Suite 3/13 Bayfield St, Rosny Park.

If required, telehealth appointments can be arranged for parent intake and feedback sessions.

There is an option to see your child at their school (this will incur travel costs). Please discuss this with us when you enquire.

From Curious to Confident: Your Questions Answered

  • Absolutely. If you’re unsure where to start, we recommend booking a Guidance & Planning Session. This gives you space to talk through your concerns with a psychologist and receive clear advice on next steps, whether that involves further assessment, referral, or other supports.

  • Wait times can vary depending on the time of year and the type of assessment you’re after. We’ll let you know current availability when you enquire, and we do our best to keep wait times short while maintaining high-quality, individualised care.

  • Every assessment begins with a parent intake appointment to understand your concerns, your child’s history, and the questions you’re hoping to answer. Depending on the type of assessment, your child will then complete one or more sessions with the psychologist that may involve cognitive tasks, academic activities, and play-based or conversation-based time. Additional parent interview sessions may also be required. If required, parent and teacher questionnaires will be sent via email to be completed between sessions. After the assessment, we provide a detailed written report and a feedback session to walk through the results and recommendations with you.

  • A screening gives a general indication of whether a particular diagnosis or presentation might be worth exploring further. It doesn’t provide a formal diagnosis but can help guide decisions. A full assessment is a comprehensive process that considers multiple sources of information and is used to make or rule out a diagnosis.

  • Yes, with your permission. In many cases, we ask teachers to complete questionnaires or provide information to help us understand how your child functions in the classroom. If you'd like, we can also share the final report or meet with school staff to support planning (additional feedback meetings and school consultations incur additional costs).

  • We currently work with school-aged children and adolescents (typically ages 6–18). If your child is younger, we’re happy to suggest other services that may better suit your needs. For early entry or developmental concerns in younger children, we’re happy to refer you to trusted professionals in our network.

  • Lighthouse Psychology Centre is not an NDIS provider. However, if you are self- or plan-managed, you may be eligible to be reimbursed for the assessment costs if the assessment directly relates to your NDIS goals. We recommend speaking with your local area co-ordinator to determine whether assessment costs may be reimbursed through your NDIS plan.

In some cases our assessment reports can support NDIS applications or reviews. Please let us know early in the process if this is one of your goals, so we can tailor the assessment accordingly.

  • Yes, particularly if a prior assessment recommended follow-up or you’re looking to monitor progress. Be sure to let us know that your child has previously been assessed when enquiring so we can be sure to check if another assessment is appropriate.

  • We are currently an assessment only service. If you’re looking for ongoing therapeutic support now, we’re happy to suggest other practices for you to connect with.
